01 / THE CONTEXT

A new project on the site of a former mine.

Alquimista brings a research facility and eco-park to a former mining site in La Unión, El Salvador. CR collaborated with Sintropic Architecture to develop the digital models and visual material for its 40-acre setting.

02 / THE CHALLENGE

Keep design and construction information aligned under a tight deadline.

The schedule was tight. The team needed detailed models and visuals for project coordination and decisions on site, along with an immersive way to experience the design. Each format needed to communicate a coherent view of the project.

One coordinated set of information can support both technical decisions and a more immediate understanding of the place.
03 / CR'S RESPONSE

Model, visualize and explore.

01

BIM fabrication models

Detailed 3D models and coordinated digital assets to support construction-focused review.

02

Architectural visuals

Interior and exterior views communicate spatial and material decisions in the wider landscape.

03

Immersive VR

A 360° experience allows project teams to inspect and communicate the proposed environment from within it.

04 / PROJECT EVIDENCE

The digital story meets the jobsite.

Construction photographs bring the site into view alongside the architectural imagery and project films. Together, these materials show the setting where the digital assets informed the team's work.

05 / WHAT IT SHOWS

Useful digital delivery connects disciplines.

Alquimista brought BIM fabrication models, renderings and VR together in a project workflow. Technical production and visual communication reinforced each other as the team worked to understand a complex place and make decisions on a compressed timeline.
